Marcel is a tiny shell who ekes out a colourful existence with his grandmother, Connie. When an Airbnb guest discovers them, the film he posts online brings Marcel millions of fans and a new hope at finding the rest of his long-lost family.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is based on a 2010 short film by Dean Fleischer-Camp, starring Jenny Slate as Marcel. Written by Dean Fleischer-Camp and Jenny Slate, the original short was an official selection of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and won the Grand Jury and Audience Awards at the 2011 New York International Children’s Film Festival. Twelve years later, Marcel returned for his big screen outing and was, once again, nominated for awards. This time, the Oscars! Watch the original short below…
