Stirchley has spoken! The winner of this year’s “Yule Decide” Festive Film is THE MUPPETS CHRISTMAS CAROL (of course it is!)

Thank you for voting. It was incredibly close this year, between It’s a Wonderful Life and The Muppets Christmas Carol, but luckily you voted sensibly and chose the correct film! We knew you wouldn’t let us down.

Yes, but which version will you be screening????

You may or may not be aware of this (probably depending on your age!) but The Muppets Christmas Carol has been missing a song for years. When Love is Gone was included in the original theatrical release, in 1992, and also featured on the VHS. Since then it has been cut from the film (the studio thought it was boring?!!) and could only be found on the special features on the DVD.

Well, this year Disney + have re-released the film, and this time When Love is Gone is back. Our plan is to show this version. It does mean streaming from Disney + so, as long as technology permits, you will experience The Muppets Christmas Carol as Charles Dickens intended: Belle walking around in the snow while Michael Cane cries behind her.
